Fred Hutchinson Cancer Center is an independent, nonprofit organization providing adult cancer treatment and groundbreaking research focused on cancer and infectious diseases. Based in Seattle, Fred Hutch is the only National Cancer Institute-designated cancer center in Washington.

This role is/will:

• Responsible for the enterprise regulatory and accreditation continuous readiness program, providing survey coordination and facilitation for Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS), Department of Health (DOH), The Joint Commission (TJC), Foundation for the Accreditation of Cellular Therapy (FACT) and Commission on Cancer (CoC).

• Serve as an internal organizational consultant related to accreditation and regulatory processes and issues.
• Manage the Accreditation and Regulatory Affairs (ARA) program and team, collaborating with Quality division as well as various departments and across the organization as a whole.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the coordination of hospital licensing and related health care regulatory and accreditation surveys, inspections, and investigations.
• Maintain enterprise-wide continuous readiness program, including auditing/monitoring activities, and the maintenance of designated accreditation software application programs.
• Lead clinical department rounding at Fred Hutch sites of care.
• Coach and mentor interdisciplinary teams in the assessment of and compliance with clinical regulatory and accreditation requirements.
• Provide and support ongoing communication of applicable local/state/federal clinical regulations and specified accreditation program standards to employees and medical staff with emphasis on functional importance of compliance.
• Prepare and present information to a variety of audiences and committees regarding aspects of the enterprise's continuous readiness for applicable regulatory and accreditation programs.
• Consult on regulatory and accreditation requirements to support site expansion and growth strategies, identifying regulatory requirements and risks and partnering to mitigate.
• Provide guidance and interpretation of clinical scope of practice.
• Chair Clinical Continuous Readiness Cooperative.
• Act in a supportive role for surveys and inspections performed by the following agencies, including but not limited to, the Food and Drug Administration, College of American Pathologists, American Society for Histocompatibility and Immunogenetics, Office of Radiation Protection, Office of the Fire Marshall, Board of Certification and Department of Ecology.
• Mentors direct reports and provides opportunities for leadership development and growth. Ensures effective staff recruitment, training, career development and retention. Responsible for various personnel issues, including hiring, performance management and disciplinary actions as needed.

Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor's degree in health care related field
• 3-5 years working in healthcare with progressive leadership experience, academic setting and oncology experience a bonus
• Extensive familiarity of healthcare accreditation and regulatory environment
• Experience working on quality initiatives in healthcare setting
• Excellent communication (written & verbal) and presentation skills, expert listening, and interpersonal skills
• Ability to translate complex and technical information
• Ability to work effectively with personnel at all levels within an organization
• Ability to excel in a team environment while operating with individual autonomy
• Ability to prioritize and execute without direction
• Customer-focused
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office product suite

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Master's Degree in health care related field
• Experience as healthcare provider
• Active WA state nursing or medical license
• CPHQ or equivalent obtained within 1 year

This position is patient facing and/or requires access to Fred Hutch clinical facilities. As such, full COVID-19 vaccination is required as a condition of employment, without exception. Booster doses are strongly recommended but not required. The annual base salary range for this position is from $ 111,748 to $ 176,634 and pay offered will be based on experience and qualifications.
