The Campus Operations Professional 1 will assist in inventory control, shipping and receiving, and stockroom activities in GMP medical manufacturing facility. They will assure inventory accuracy and integrity and provide materials information to production and other departments as needed. In addition, they will assure documentation related to inventory management meeting Food and Drug Administration requirements.
Duties and Tasks:
Receive all incoming materials; verify correctness against Bill of Lading, invoices, etc. Enter all receipts into inventory system. Physically put materials into appropriate inventory location, check for quarantine requirements and special handling. Receive and process material returns.
Verify that all computer and logs have been updated pertaining to the receiving.
Identify, label, code for computer entry and verify materials entering the facility
Participate in the development and implementation of systems and procedures affecting materials management and GMP compliance for the facility, assuring they meet all state and federal regulations including FDA, OSHA.
Review order points, inventory, and maintain order cycles and inventory levels within established guidelines.
Manage adequate inventory levels through:
Electronic receipt and issue of materials in electronic materials resource planning database
Modify order frequency and quantities based on program’s levels of activity
Accurate generation of labels indicating material lot numbers, expiration dates and other pertinent material information
Review MCT approved specification against vendor supplied information, certificate of analysis and MCT electronic order
Review colleague generated material release labels
Generate and review of monthly expiry reports
Generate and review of monthly cycle counts
Analyze material requirements and recommends appropriate action.
Provide and maintain required inventory and materials management records and files.
Review forecasts, changes, inventory levels, facility capacity, lead times, order demands and provide recommendations.
Assist in providing forms and guidelines to be used for ordering material. Must analyze data in order to meet required dates that materials are needed, analyze and integrate deliveries of materials. Must be able to prioritize order placing with vendors.
Provide inventory accuracy and integrity through physical and cycle counting systems.
Assist in maintaining back order reports, material locations, computer updating, file and report maintenance.
Pull stage and issue job kits as required. Issue chemicals, compounds and materials to production and ordering department as requested. Assist in resolving all part count discrepancies. Show history on all error corrections. Verify the accuracy of purchase orders and receiving reports. Verify all documents affecting computer inventory systems.
Review inventory order points and current inventory levels, shelf life, expiration dates, quarantine storage and special handling materials.
Package outgoing product and materials per packaging requirements, following intrastate, interstate and international packaging, invoicing and licenses requirements. Correctly label and log out-going shipments per specifications. Ensure all paperwork and computer updating is done pertaining to each shipment. Maintain a proper supply of shipping documents and shipping packaging and containers.
Seek and recommend ways to improve department SOP’s, systems/procedures, department efficiency and in other areas which would increase facility productivity.

This position reports to the Materials Management Supervisor
All required qualifications must be documented on application materials.
- Demonstrated experience with material management and inventory management. Proficiency with software. - Knowledge of purchasing principles, stock and shipping nomenclature. - Knowledge of Food and Drug Administration cGMP documentation requirements. - Bachelor's degree in Material Management or related field, or 2 year degree with at least 2 years of experience working in a busy material warehouse, or a combination of education and experience to equal at least 4 years. - Ability to work in fast-paced environment. - Demonstrated interpersonal/ communication skills. - Detail oriented
- Experience with Sage/MAS90 ERP database. - Experience working with University of Minnesota EFS. - Experience working in a Food and Drug Administration GMP facility. - Knowledge of University sponsor and non-sponsor requirements.
