The University of Iowa Pharmaceuticals (UIP) division of the College of Pharmacy seeks qualified applicants for a full-time Pharmaceutical Project Manager position. This position will report to the Director of Business Development, and will plan, direct, and coordinate development projects for client pharmaceutical and biotechnology organizations.
UIP is an FDA-registered pharmaceutical manufacturing and testing facility, providing expertise in contract pharmaceutical development, manufacturing, and testing to clients around the world. This is an exciting time to join UIP, as part of the unit will be moving to the new $96.3 million College of Pharmacy building scheduled to open in 2020. The lower level of this new building will be home to the UIP new sterile products manufacturing area which will be approximately 16,000 square feet and will increase UIP batch size capacity approximately 5-fold to 20,000 vials/batch.
The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:
· handling incoming client requests for information,
· defining project scopes,
· collecting information required to provide proposals for service,
· preparing proposals for service,
· communicating with clients on active projects to facilitate timely project completion, coordinating provision of deliverables, and
· playing a key role in internal initiatives such as improving our utilization rate and effectiveness in manufacturing.

Bachelor’s degree in Pharmaceutical Sciences or a related science (e.g., chemistry or engineering) or equivalent combination of education and experience.
2 - 3 years demonstrated job experience in:
pharmaceutical formulation development,
pharmaceutical quality (either assurance or control),
government regulations in relation to pharmaceuticals,
or pharmaceutical manufacturing.
Evidence of achieving results, providing service excellence, and demonstrating collaboration in a diverse environment.
Strong communication (written and verbal) and organizational skills.
Proven ability to process information with high levels of accuracy and attention to detail, including grammar and punctuation.
Master’s Degree in Pharmaceutics or a related science.
2-3 years demonstrated project management experience in pharmaceutical manufacturing or analytical testing.
Experience with Food and Drug Administration (FDA) current Good Manufacturing (cGMP).
Experience preparing quotations in a contract manufacturing environment.
