The Global Regulatory Affairs Lead is responsible for leading the development and maintenance of Good Manufacturing Practices and Narcotic control licensing activities in various jurisdictions, worldwide. A suitable candidate has the knowledge and experience to coordinate efforts between marketing, operations, and business partners in various regions to accomplish and maintain licensing.
Collaborate with Quality Control, Regulatory Affairs, Operations and Marketing departments to ensure compliance with the relevant regulations and guidelines of the region of which they are intended
Lead review and enforcement to that regions requirements of cGMP
Stay current with Regulatory changes relevant to cannabis production and products happening in Canada and worldwide
Oversee and manage regulatory inspections, product transfers, personnel security clearances, site security, adverse reaction reporting procedures for new global sites
Liaison with regulatory officials, preparation of regulatory submissions, and coordination of responses to regional regulators
Review of product labels and advertising to align with that regions policies
Create/Manage the yearly, quarterly, monthly and other inventory control related reports, as required by that regions regulations
Manage the preparation and configuration of Canopy’s Quality Management System to suit a region
Manage domestic regulatory officers assigned to assist on international projects

Experience and Background
B.Sc./M.Sc. degree in Biological/Life Sciences/ Bioengineering (Pharmacology, Molecular Biology, Biology, Chemistry) or extensive experience and related training
Post-Graduate Regulatory Certification considered an asset
Minimum 5 years direct regulatory experience, either domestic or international
Knowledge and experience working within a pharmaceutical manufacturing, packaging, and/or warehousing cGMP Quality Management System
Knowledge of the Canadian Access to Cannabis for Medical Purposes Regulations, Food and Drug Act, Controlled Drugs and Substances Act
Experience in an ISO:9001, ISO:13485, or ISO:17025 environment is considered an asset
Multi-lingualism is considered an asset
The position of Global Regulatory Lead is based out of Canada and will primarily involve preparation of various documents required for licensing in a given region. It may require travel to the various regions where global sites are being developed and licensed. Interactions with regulators, politicians and other stakeholders those regions may be routine during the development of a site. Areas of interest include locations on all continents, excluding Antarctica.
